In 2023, adidas has partnered with Common Goal to support projects that educate and engage communities on sustainability through sport. From 1-12 June, For every 10 minutes of movement that was tracked in the adidas Running app, adidas donated 1€ to Common Goal for projects that educate communities. For this purpose, the Move for the Planet adidas global campaign was launched, calling people from all over the world to contribute in the protection of our planet.

The Magic Bus was challenged to take over the local campaign in Greece aiming at raising awareness by educating people on the problem and encouraging them to take action. A photoshooting with local athletes and adidas ambassadors was implemented, to be able to use content for the communication of the project.

The peak of the local Move for the Planet campaign was the Sports Festival that took place on June 8th, in the heart of Athens. Calling participants to join a sport of their choice (among 3 options) our goal was to boost the tracking of active minutes in the adidas Running app in order to contribute to the cause as much as possible.

On June 8th, Karaiskaki Square buzzed with energy as a crowd of people gathered to attend the Move for the Planet Sports Festival. The excitement was fueled by rewarding participants with exclusive Move for the planet t-shirts, and blending athleticism with environmental advocacy. The event featured:

  • Two running sessions of different distance (3K & 6K)
  • Three spinning sessions
  • A thrilling 3on3 basketball tournament

At the same time, Xenia Ghali set the rhythm with a live DJ performance, while sponsors treated participants with surprises: ice-cold Heineken beers, refreshing Lipton Ice Tea Sparkling, delicious ice cream by Chillbox and fresh portions of pasta by Pasta Days.

Beyond sports, an interactive live art installation was set-up and led by the well-know greek artist Soteur, symbolizing a collective commitment to protect our planet.

The Magic Bus took over the design, concept and implementation of the local Move for the Planet campaign, including the Sports Festival, with more than 400 people attending the event. Also, we took over the design and handling of the microsite that was created in order to ease the registration process for the three different sports of the Sports Festival.
